It happens every now and again. Apparently, I can’t make it more than 3 years before adding more ink. I’m wanting something new, something exciting! To feel my bones vibrate and my skin burn like a bad rugburn. Okay, maybe not.
What I’m not feeling is the blurry mandarin symbols on my foot. Done almost ten years ago by a tattoo artist with an airbrushed frog on his sign (those are the things artists remember, no the actual name of the place! oh… wait… Liquid Ink? maybe…) this tattoo was impromptu but meaningful. Three characters (correctly) state “Walk in Truth.” Deep. Meaningful. And blurry. After running around the law office where I worked barefoot, for almost a week until I could stand the pain of high heel straps over the tattoo, it blurred almost immediately. I was sad, shocked. It hasn’t worsened, thankfully, but still serves as a reminder of bad craft in art. Stuck on me. Permanently.
I found this feather that would be an amazing cover-up for the tattoo. What do you think? I love the way it envelopes the ankle bone.
